My wife's well used iBook G4 has developed a flickering screen.
A search of the net reveals that the reed switch was a common failure
on this model. Has anyone had this problem and if so, were they able to
achieve a successful resolution?

I've had a little app which boots up on start up for about a year on SWMBO's
Macbook (White plastic one with Snow leopard). It's been very reliable and
informative. It is a Mac OSX app I grabbed off the Weatherzone website way back
then. Just today it bounces on the dock on startup and then
Hi Peter,
When you say it is a widget do you mean that it resided in Dashboard? Or
alternatively did it used to show up in the Menu Bar at the top of the screen,
as an icon on the Dock, or as a fixed display area on your Desktop? Or finally,
was it a full fledged window that you could drag

selected, the menu bar shows Weather tracker as main menu bar.
I am happy to write it off and pick up something that someone recommends as a
good desktop weather app.
I was unable to locate a plist file reflecting the
If you want to work on WeatherZone, there is every chance that you will be able
to rehabilitate it because you still have the app file. If you can move the
window around, there should be a preferences file somewhere to record the
starting location of the window. You could also try
Like Carlo I use everyday Pocket Weather AU HD for iPad. The Radar is very
handy as well.
And on my MBP I use the standard weather widget in Dashboard. I have quite a

Hi Ronni
Sorry about the new thread - can't get into Mail and forgot the name of the old
one. I have 70gig free and 50 used on the partition in question.would that do?
The bloke in pro byte in bunbury also suggested an archive and install, so if
you think so too that's the clincher. I have a
Hello,
I use iCal 5.0.1, Mail 5.1 and OSX 10.7.2 on a Mac Mini.
In iCal I have a number of calendars, basically one work calendar and one

In Mail, I have a number of email accounts that are set up to show a different

If you are interested, you can get yourself a free copy of the Beatles' Yellow
Submarine ebook from the iTunes App Store. The ebook include animations and

Beatles fan.
Hi Alastair,
You seem to be avoiding my questions on backup which I've asked in replies to
your original problems... “Do you have a Bootable Backup” or a Backup system
in place?
I personally would prefer to do a clean “Erase Install” of Tiger. But as you
have another partition on the drive,
Thanks Ronni and Carlo for your advice, I'm sure I'll get out of trouble and be
up to date with weather watching again very soon.

Hi Peter,
In my current version of GC (X 261) The only batch conversion I can find
is Modify and Convert. In previous version there was a clumsy but
workable function that enabled me to change the size, sharpen, adjust
colours etc by selecting these functions, but I can't see that in this
For those with network constraints I should have mentioned it is an almost
half-a-gigabyte download.

Hi Ronnie,
YES! That worked. I duplicated a few of them and followed your
instructions and this time it worked. It is about folders.
The problem may have been that I had the photos in sub-folders in a main
folder and even though I navigated into the sub-folder it was not being
recognised. I
Hi Lloyd,
Pleased it worked for you.
The process multiple files information includes the ‘full complete ‘Path’-
link to the files’:

2. The Users Account name
3. The folder in which the photo file is found in
4. The name of that photo file folder.
