Hi Ronni,
Prior to my data loss on my iMac and iMac backup last month both my iPad and
iPhone were set to iCloud backup, and remain so, and everything functioned as
you, Carlo and Daniel describe below.
My issues at the moment:
Given the data loss I've experienced on my iMac, I'm very keen to
Hi Andrew .. I have used TechTool Pro for some time now.
Very happy with it.

Hi Stuart,
You can always use Google Translate:

I haven't had cause to use it too often and seem to remember the results
were, shall we say, patchy.
But it may well do what you need.

Hi Callum,
I think I may be able to explain what is happening here but it is only my best
guess. My understanding is that photos in Photo Stream will remain on the
iCloud server for 30 days to give all your devices a chance to sync. Each
individual portable device will retain the 1000 most
Thanks Stephen and Ronni for your suggestions.
BTW. Sorry Stuart, I seem to have hijacked your thread :-(

Thanks Carlo,
I like and understand the explanation, sadly it doesn't appear to fit my
situation at least for the most part. :P
Some of the photos appearing in the iMac photo stream are from 2009. There are
only about a dozen photos from within the last 30 days, and it's not
recognising all
Hi Callum
If you plug in the iDevices and open iPhoto, then under Devices once you click
on your iPhone (or iPad), does it show the Window Already Imported. perhaps
it thinks it's already imported them on a previous occasion. If it does, you
can then click on the right hand side and choose
I have tried that, sadly in the iPad's case it's saying that it's only already
imported 60 photos.
As I say it doesn't seem to be recognising photos on the device at all, for the
most part. It's certainly not importing any albums, the only thing that works
is reserving the photos back into
Hi Callum
Other options to try.
ImageCapture (in Applications folder). Open up, and when plugged in, it
hopefully may show all the photos not the device. Then give you options to
select all and import into Picture folder. (or someone else). Then import into
iPhoto.
PhoneView. (Good for other
Victory!
ImageCapture only recognised the same images as iPhoto, but Phoneview seems to
have imported all of the photos off the iPad with just one click, though I've
got a bit of work ahead of me establishing the albums and removing the
duplicates.
Many thanks for the recommendation, and
Well done Daniel!
Just one more question Callum. Is your Photo Stream now working as advertised?
If you take a photo on, say, your iPhone does it show up in Photo Stream on
your iPad and in iPhone on your Mac?

Carlo

I haven't yet tried the iPhone, iPhoto on the iMac is in the process of
uploading to 2,000 odd photos it's pulled from the iPad into the Photo Stream.
I'm going to let that finish, do the same for the iPhone then report back.
Cheers!

Have a look at MacUpdate Desktop. Not a free thing, but it does look at your

It's very useful. And works 10,000 times better then (argh) MacKeeper :oP
That certificate I believe comes from someone on list who uses certified
Thank you Daniel, for that suggestion

Hello to the Group,
I might be barking up the wrong tree (again) but wasn't there a run of MacPros
that had the incorrect Bluetooth antenna fitted to the board? Symptoms were
very-poor range because the wireless signal could not penetrate the Pro's cage.
Not everyone uses a Bluetooth
Hi Lorenzo,
You are correct, Apple did release some early MacPros with
mislabeling/miswiring problem.
What happened was two wires got mislabeled. This didn’t happen when the
Bluetooth module was added to the computer, but during the actual assembly of
the Mac Pro.
The Bluetooth module is a

On the occasions I've needed to ask for help, it's after extensive research to
