Prior to my upgrade to Yosemite I had available while using Safari, the option
of converting say text from the Australian Newspaper to a format which removed
any advertising material.
To do this I used an app called READER which sat at the top right of my Safari

I fear that today I tried to do too much. Yosemite has replaced OS 10.7x,
iPhone 6 has replaced iPhone 4S and Telstra has replaced Westnet as phone
service provider. iiNet remains as internet provider.
I backed up the 4S (including music apps etc I assume) to the MacBook Pro and

Hi Michael,
When you first connect your iPhone 6 to your Mac - iTunes you setup Restore
from your last iPhone 4S backup. Follow the onscreen prompts to restore your
content.
This can take quite a long time depending on the amount of data it needs to
download.

Hi Ronni,
Earlier today I started the process described by you, but sod's law applied and
defeated me. The OS on the new phone was an older version of ios8 and so it had
to be updated. Part way through that process Westnet ceased to be my service

Hi Michael,
iTunes will still have the iPhone 4S backup - you should be able to connect the
iPhone 6 to your Mac - iTunes and setup Restore from the 4S backup.
What happened when you tried this?
Do you have the iPhone User Guide iOS 8 iPhone 6

had put a password in as a shortcut when app was typed.
All now good.
Cheers
