Hi Pat,
Yes, I understand your point but, if it had worked, you wouldn¹t have had
to CONTINUE to open in a browser first just a one-time thing for each file
at least that¹s what I found with the PDFs the first opening of the file
with the appropriate software seemed to generate the first
Good morning,
I use iCloud Notes to store much useful information that is then synced across
my iPhone 4 (7.1.2), iPad 1 (5.1.1) and Mac Mini (10.10.2)
This morning I found all the notes stored in iCloud have disappeared. They have
disappeared from each device, plus when I log into icloud.com
Hehe, glad to hear your code is clean Pat ;o)
Well, if the W3C Markup Validation Service gives the html file a clean bill
of health, it does look like the Quicklook shipping in OSX 10.10.2 is the
problem.
Update:
I¹ve just seen your latest email so the combo update didn¹t fix it.

Hi, again, Neil,
Nothing dirty about my code. With BBEdit hanging over my shoulder with every
keystroke, there’s little chance of that. I always verify the code on every
page just to catch the little oversights.
Thanks,
Pat

Well, I have now downloaded Combo Update 10.10.2, backed up everything,
repaired permissions, verified Disk. Repair Disk returned ‘OK’. So I then
installed the Combo Update. It only took a few minutes, and, sadly, I still get
blank pages when I use Quicklook on .html files.

Hi Tim,
Very quick reply as out on a job.
You haven't accidentally turned on iCloud Drive?
iCloud Drive only syncs Yosemite iOS 8 devices.

Hi Robert,
Please keep your replies to the same Subject thread and don't delete previous
comments in the messages. I haven't time to scroll back through emails to check
what has already been mentioned.
I've pasted your last reply below:

Hi Peter,
If you take the necessary precautions - Repairing Permissions - Repair Drive -
and BACKUP - Turn Time Machine OFF - disconnect all devices from your Mac etc -
before installing the Combo 10.10.2 over top of your installation you should be
fine.
The Combo updates Apple Downloads
Hi, Ronni,
After reading the posts on the updating problems, I used 10.10.2 as I already
had 10.10.1 installed.
Repaired permissions, but did not Repair Drive.
After reading the posts this afternoon, I tried the Preview trick mentioned by
Neil, but Preview wouldn’t open a .html file.
So, I
Many thanks Ronni! I’ll do that.
Kind regards

Hi Pat,
You misunderstood me - I actually said:
You could try opening the file in a browser (Firefox or Safari?) - I¹m
assuming it will display OK and then try quicklook to see if it can now
cope.
The actual idea is to produce a ³preview² of the page (preview in a more

Hi Robert,
Are you syncing Yosemite 10.10.2 to iOS 8 devices?
Are you Signed In to iCloud?
Do you have Calendar Contacts selected ON in iCloud Settings on your Mac
iOS 8 Devices?
Cheers,

Hi, Neil,
I just tried your expanded explanation, but it still didn’t work. Even if it
did, it wouldn’t help because the point is, trying to avoid opening the files.
Just trying to get a view of how the file displays without opening it in a
browser.
Thank you, anyway. Just now, I am
