I have a task that requires transferring details of academic papers from PDFs into Filemaker Pro ( Ver 11). I have found that no matter what I do, the last step will not work with a Preview PDF but will work with Adobe 8 Pro PDF. Is there anyway I can switch off Preview temporarily?

Peter, I have set up a database with 7 fields. Those fields correspond to elements in PDFs I have (conference papers: authors, abstracts etc). I drag and drop from PDF segment to field (Not Cut and Paste). I then see my data appear in FM. I use Adobe because the text in the fields
