Thanks Peter, I had considered some of these but the problem starts as soon as the computer is turned on apparently so you can't even get in to check settings. We think we may have isolated it to faulty keyboard so will try a replacement & hopefully it's as simple as that. Thanks to others who off

Hi Rob (and others) I know you have probably checked this, but the keyboard layout is on the correct setting, i.e. the little Australian flag. I just remember someone had the same problem and the keyboard settings was for German. (In 9:- Control Panels/Keyboard -Scroll through the list to make su

I remember a while back someone had a problem with a keyboard behaving strangely, as if the keyboard was mapped differently & keys were repeating. It was conjectured this might be a virus. I notice that there are such virus's for windows found in .com or.exe files. Does anyone know if there is one
