Ok Pedro, "Shared" is only present in the sidebar if you have any connected severs or any bonjour computers on your local network. If none of these are available the Shared section will disappear. It will reappear when needed. So, as James suggested yesterday, somehow your iMac & MacBook ar

Aargh I,m an idiot I just answered my own question in that last post. Tried to figure out why it is happening to both computers at the same time. What's common to both, the modem, did a reboot of the netgear and bingo!! "SHARED" tab appeared on both just like magic. I love this list, a bi

Hi Pedro, Try trashing the Finder preference file and restarting (com.apple.finder.plist). Then re-enter your personal finder preferences. The file is located in your home folder (abbreviated ~). Go to ~library>preferences and drag "com.apple.finder.plist" to the trash. OS X will rebuild th
