I have a USB2 Flash card reader and a USB2 card in my G4/400. Recently he USB2 cable developed a fault and in the short term I have used a USB1 cable in its place. I do not have a real benchmark but I think the speed downloading photos from the reader to the computer is more or less

usually (read pretty much 100% or the time) a device drivers are bus independent, that being the whole point. The bus (USB) drivers handle the bus specifications and in this case USB1 is a sub set of USB2 and therefor backwards compatible. It maybe that a device such as a video conferencing
