up in a small town one cannot really appreciated the experience.

I overheard a co-worker explaining about TAGS to a foreigner who had never
seen the show. He said it was on from 1960-65. I told him it was on until
1968. He said-Oh, I dont count the color episodes! Geez. Many people don't

I've always been impressed with the quality of phone service in Mayberry.
Efficient, courteous, dependable. Good to know that Hooterville is finally
achieving that same level of quality. According to Fred Ziffle, ar one time
Hooterville was using soup cans and string for telephoning. Said Fred,

How about the time Malcom Merriweather caused that accident on the main
street?
Or the time the Darling's were hiding in the vacant store and could be heard
fiddlin' all over town?
Or the time the State Police rolled into town with upteen squad cars?
Once again, Tom's recollections are priceless. If he wrote a book I would
buy it. And Welford the camera nut's remembrances of his own little Mayberry
were thoroughly enjoyable. Makes me wish I could visit there. I knew Southern
towns like that way back when. As to Mayberry's mayors, I loved
