From what I can tell, "jigging" is simply dropping a weighed jig, baited with a
maggot, to the bottom, then lifting it six inches or so from the bottom and
“jigging” it up and down to attract fish. I defer to the expert ice fishermen
to clarify it better. But the point he (Matthew McConaughey)
Attached is the extended version of the Lincoln Commercial. In case you don't
understand what he is saying, it is "Beats jiggin' in a shanty".

was actually him.

I saw Francer Bavier (Aunt Bee) on The Lone Ranger. She played Aunt Maggie. Not
to give away the ending, but this was a different role for her than sweet Aunt
Bee. Even Tonto tells the Lone Ranger that he would rather fight her nephew
than to fight her. The name of the episode is called
Just thought of 2 more. When Barney sets up the camera at the filling station
to catch the thief. Also, when the movie actress came back to her home town of
Mayberry and Barney escorted her to the premiere of her movie.

One of my favorite animals in Mayberry was Dolly, the horse, who didn't want to
quit her job of pulling the milk wagon.

I was watching "The Christmas Story" episode the other day and heard something
that I had not picked up on before. Ben Weaver was wanting Sam Muggins arrested
for making moonshine. He said something about store owners having a hard time
selling their "spirits" because people like Sam were
Mayberry seemed to have a lot of new businesses opening up creating jobs for
some and investments for others. There was the Chinese Restaurant, The
(Counterfeit) Printing Co. , the new Meat Market, the Laundromat, Bert's "this
and that" stand, Opie's Lemonade Stand. Then, we had Barney selling
In The Shoplifters episode, the little old lady that Barney accused of

Andy, Andy was trying to read The Legend of Sleepy Hollow to Opie when all of
the ladies started showing up at his house.
Has anyone else noticed that when Opie shows his excitement about something,
like showing his Pa his report card or getting a reward of some kind, he always
licks his lips. I was always curious as to whether that was his own personal
acting technique for expressing excitement or if the
I don't recall any winter scenes, but there were several episodes that hinted
that the weather could get cold in Mayberry. In Aunt Bee the Warden and Andy

I finally got to meet Allan Newsome in person today, which made my day, and
while talking about Mayberry and other things, I told him that I knew that I
needed to post more on this website. Thought about making it one of my New

In the episode where there is a Summit meeting in Mayberry, it was said (many
times) that the Taylor home had 4 bedrooms and 1-and-a-half baths. Not sure
what
the floor plan was for the upstairs, so I don't know where the half bath room
was located. But here's my real question. Obviously,
Ithink that wetting the sight is supposeto cut down on the glare off the
sight. I don't know this for sure, because I'm just a housewife and not
a teacher or Sheriff :)

As to my favorite song, I don't believe any one has mentioned it yet,
but I could have overlooked it, but I just love it when Andy and Barney
sing Spread a little Sunshine...ain't that perty?
Lots of luck to you and yours,

Hey Historybuff! I de-tasseled corn as a teen growing up in Indiana.
One of the roughest jobs ever. Those corn stalks can really scratch a
person, not to mention HOT! It did pay well and only lasted about two
weeks. Great memory.

I'm not sure if he's been mentioned yet or not, Jack Nicholson was the
accused robber in the episode that Aunt Bee sits on the jury. Now, he's

Congrats on your upcoming nuptuals. As for using There is a Time,
that song is talking about wandering and when one is marrying the
wandering days are over, probably not the best song to use.
The song that Miss Peggy and Andy sang on his front porch was Down in
the Valley.
