I don't know if there was air conditioning or not but I've noticed a board at the base of each window.  That board, a broad panel, was used so when the windows were open the air would be directed towards the celing. That would cause the air to circulate better.  I worked in a place, a long time

Here in our town, the post office sends out an envelope about 3 times a year and this is an envelope that can be used to order stamps by mail. That is the way I get my stamps. Just put a check in the envelope, mark what you want and they are sent back to you in about 3 days. No driving
