I watched part of a cute movie over the weekend titled With Six You Get

This weekend TCM broadcast the very first talking movie, The Jazz Singer.
While I was watching it, about 1/3 of the way through the movie, Al Jolson
broke into the song "Toot Toot Tootsie".I said to Martha, "That man must
have gotten into Dr. Harvey's

On a Jack Benny late last night there were several older ladies from
Mayberry who were being treated to a mini-concert as members of his fan
club. Chief among them was Emma Watson, donned in a very familiar ensemble.

Must've been William Holden night on TCM recently as several of his films
were shown. In one, Opie's school principal and Erma Bishop were entertining
Mr. Holden at tea and in another one, Mayberry's grocer who married Miss

Lately Howard Sprague has been all over the tube. He was a clergyman with a
young daughter on Maude the other night. Then on the newly-released DVDs of
season 3 of Mama's Family, he was the train depot clerk/janitor. I didn't
recall seeing him in any roles other than Potsy's father on Happy Days
I was watching Jack Lemmon and Shirley McClaine in The Apartment where I saw
the reverend who preached "what's Your Hurry?" aka David Lewis and Otis
Campbell aka Hal Smith was a Santa Claus JL met while getting drunk in a bar.

It would seem that a true "alumni" sighting would refer to someone who
was a regular on the show who appeared on another show. Let's face it,
many of the character actors who appeared on TAGS were on other shows.
You could watch old shows every day and likely see someone who appeared
on TAGS.

appeared on Perry Mason, and Farmer Flint appeared on Bonanza. Also Simon
Winkler, spoiled brat Arnold's dad, had a recurring role as banker
On the first Rifleman episode this afternoon Hope (Clara Edwards) Summers
appeared as the storekeeper and Harlan (Simon Winkler) Warde appeared as the
banker.
