Thanks, Paul, for your information on the color era theme. I don't have those
on DVD, and I just assumed they would be in the same dual keys as the B W
theme. (Never assume...) Perhaps there is something in the theory that there
was a more relaxed key at the end. Many composers have felt that

to make it more confusing, I have the theme song script signed by Earl Hagen
and it is in the key of F. I got it autographed by him at Mayberry Days a few
years ago. Maybe after he wrote it in that key he found out

I don't know if this has ever come up before in this forum, but has anyone
noticed that the intro theme is in the key of G Major, while the outro
theme is in the key of E flat Major. Being a trained musical noticer, it
struck me as odd that they would have recorded 2 versions in
4 matches
