There are so many ways this could happen it is hardly worth working out how.
Is it all on one address? Then close that address is the best advice.
But you may prefer to use filters to block it.

I do use Thunderbird. I am still finding that it puts "regular" e-mails
in the Trash too. I am only seeing the pornographic spam in the Trash
