Hi,
bin/user/schemas.py is a file that existed under weeWX 2.x but was removed
in weeWX v3.0.0 (and onwards). I presume you edited setup.cfg to change the
home directory? I am no expert on the setup.py installer, Tom and Matthew
are better versed, but you haven't somehow ended up running the
I am trying to do something similar, upgrading from 2.01 to 3.8 using
setup.py. After unpacking the tarball and editing the setup.cfg file the
build goes ok but the install stops with this error:
error: can't copy '/home/jen/weewx-3.8.0/bin/user/schemas.py': doesn't
exist or not a regular file
Just discovered my Vantage Data Logger has ATTRS{idProduct}=="ea61",
instead of "ea60" in the udev rules supplied with the .deb package. I'm
using it with an Davis Envoy, instead of a Console. But I suppose the
product ID should be set with the data logger itself.

Yes, it was fairly uneventful. I installed with .deb package and went
though the weewx.conf to make sure everything was correct.
Now with the basic function working, I'll start to play with the new
features like RapidFire and rsync. I'll also make sure the setup will
survive a reboot.

And otherwise, it went OK?

OK, I did the migration today. My weewx.sdb was about 74MB. It only took
the manager a bit over 10 minutes to finish the backfilling. The process
started at 22:13:07 and finished at 20:24:37.

My suggested sequence. This assumes you are using the setup.py install
method (Debian install was not introduced until V2.2) and that
I'll report back when I finish the upgrade. Just ordered the Pi, RTC, etc.
So it may take some time, depending on my schedule.
Would it be better if I allow the database upgrade to finish before I
connect the weather station (Vantage Pro 2 + Envoy) or it doesn't really
matter?
I didn't really
This will be a good test of the automatic upgrade. :-)
Unless you are using an extension, or have done a searchlist extension, it
should just work. Note that there is no longer a statistical summary file
(stats.sdb). Instead, the daily summaries are now included inside the
weewx.sdb file. So,
Hi,
I'm planning on installing the latest weewx 3.6 on a new machine (Raspberry
Pi). I've been running 2.0 on another machine for almost five years and
would like to to keep my weewx.sdb. Will it work by simply coping the
weewx.sdb from 2.0 to the 3.6 installation?
Thanks,
TDS
