Thanks for the information. I browsed through it and found the two
possible options in the mailman config, where one can either "mung" or
"wrap" the from-headers to circumvent the DMARC Policiy.
However, both methods have documented drawbacks, and I'm a bit afraid
that by changing this
As Prof. Marks mentioned, I also suspect that it is due to gmail [1] and
mail.ru [2] recently changing to a stricter DMARC Policy (i.e., from
p=none to p=reject).
The DMARC reject policy (p=reject) is known to be a problem that is not
easy for mailing list administrators to address [3],

My understanding is that .forward is problematic
In my mail account I do not have any automatic forwarding. The letters

After switching on the notification, I got 5 emails with bounce
information. 4 of them because of "user not known", i.e. the email does
not exist anymore and mailman should unsubscribe this mail after some time.
One concerns Laurence Marks with a strange "Autoreply" and the mail
contains:
Still it seems to happen mostly on gmail accounts ? (except Ludmilla).
It is even more strange, since mailman "resets" your bounce index to
zero, if there is no bounce for 7 days.
At the moment I've doubled the bounce value, so it should happen less
frequent and in addition there's more
I have a suspicion what this is, and it is something that I am struggling

there a .forward within the WIEN2k subscription checking structure?
The problem may be related to what is called DMARC policy, which breaks the
Dear Prof. Blaha
I have checked my spam inbox and no, none of the email that my gmail
account automatically archived as spam was coming from Wien2k, in THIS last
period.
However, in the past sometimes it has happened , that's true, that I have
found some emails from Wien2k in the spam box (one,
Dear Prof. Blaha,
Unfortunately, I am facing the same problem described by Dr. Fabiana Da
Pieve.
Please, let me know if I can do anything to help.
All the best,

I've nothing changed recently in the mailing list configuration, so I
don't know why this should now happen (except when your mail system has
changed e.g spam-processing, ...)
It probably comes from bounce processing, i.e. mailman cannot send to
your email addresses and gets a bounce back.

Me too.
I do not think this is normal. Or is it ?

Dear Wien2k developers
I am a pretty silent user of Wien2k since many years and I always read with
pleasure the emails of the different users, which sometimes are also useful
for me.
However, in the last period I get very often (every 3 weeks) an email to
