Hi Cornelius, a quick sanity check (sorry if this was already discussed): in your overview, you don't mention any WMF staff members as such. Is that because they won't be invited in that capacity (i.e. not including staff members that happen to be in affcom, that are affiliate representatives or a

I second Yaroslav here. Last year it was very obvious how disconnected was that strategy thing with the communities that actually build the projects. All that reached wiki.pt were kind of obvious generalities without much to tell about, which were generally ignored by the community. The Strategy Wo

The Wikimedia Conference is "closed" in that only those who are invited are allowed to attend. Wikimania is an open conference meaning basically anyone can attend, including those currently outside the movement. I view a global conference as critical to our long term success. Well most of what we a

Hi Michal, thank you for your reaction. No, I am personally not interested in attending the Wikimedia conference or whatever name it has now. I am unhappy with that, from my viewpoint, the opinions of what is called unorganized volunteers is discarded. - On stage 1, I participated in some discuss

Hi Yaroslav, I find your concern important so let me attempt to refine it to discussion points or a call for action. :) Firstly, I think it is unwise to assume what "everyone is interested in". You don't know personally all the people in the Movement, e.g. me and my interests. If you meant s

Hi Chris, I can comment on your question why we need another strategy conference: The Wikimedia 2030 process is ongoing, and is building – among many other inputs – upon the outcomes of the last two conferences. Organized groups are already working on the implementation of the Strategic Direction

So it seems that the main rationale for an annual Wikimania brought up in the 2016 meeting was that Wikimania was vital for movement governance and accountability. Which wasn't particularly stressed in the WMF's consultation, but I can see why that kind of issue was very fresh in peoples' minds in
