Cisco WCS statistics

2006-11-29 Thread David Wang @ UoG CCS
Hi all, We are using cisco LWAPP with WCS, and currently are looking for some auto report / statistics functions, like wireless usage for each building, or on selected APs. Does anyone know WCS has this things? if not, is there any way to get these info out from WCS or controllers? thanks i

WCS does not provide very customizable statistics. We have found that the best way to get what we want is to write it ourselves. We get our data directly from the controllers via snmp. We store some of the information in a mysql database for reports and the rest of the data is stored in rrd file

We have a classroom response system operating in some of our "super" classrooms. (500+ seats) To date we have found no interference issues with the WLAN environment that significantly impacts either system. Little impact has been seen with this FHSS clicker system and the classes with 250+ wire

Thanks Todd, I am interested with what kind of graphing you have now. Do you mind share some screenshots or demo? David Wang, Networking Services,CCS www.uoguelph.ca 519-824-4120 x52046 Todd M. Hall wrote: WCS does not provide very customizable statistics. We have found that the best way

Attached is an example of how we are graphing. This graph is one of five on a page showing the number of users using each of our WLANs. This page allows us to select whatever time interval we want graphed (the attached graph is for a 24 hour period). Future plans are to graph the number of users

I really hate to do a product endorsement in a public forum, but you should take a look at AirWave's AMP product. We looked at brewing our own system and what that would cost in staff time and opportunity cost. We ended up deciding that for this situation, AMP was cheaper and better than what we

The frustrating part is that this detail is available in WLSE in Cisco's autonomous line- why the LWAPP system would leave these details out is a bit bewildering. (This is not an invitation for Airwave to call me.) Hopefully we see improvements in this area from Cisco very, very soon. Lee >>> [EM

Well, let's cross our fingers. I was disappointed by ciscoworks -- LMS, ITEM and waiting for years and years, never saw real improvement at all. It's just embarrassing that your management products for own devices beat by others. David Wang, Networking Services,CCS www.uoguelph.ca 519-824-

Again thanks for sharing Todd. I am digging into these controller MIB files now. Is possible to gather associated user number for each AP (per-ap-interface)? David Wang, Networking Services,CCS www.uoguelph.ca 519-824-4120 x52046 Todd M. Hall wrote: Attached is an example of how we are gr

Hi David, If your currently running MRTG or similar, can get authenticated clients with the MIB: 1.3.6.1.4.1.14179.2.1.1.1.38.1 for Wireless LAN Controllers, MIB for a Cisco FAT Access Points is 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.273.1.1.2.1.1.1. Doing twice will give the green with blue highlight Target[name-o

Hi David, Correct, 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.273.1.1.2.1.1.1 (cDot11AssociationMIB) works for the Cisco FAT Access Points, gives NULL on the Wireless LAN Controller. Cisco FAT Access Points; Target[name-of-device.1]: 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.273.1.1.2.1.1.1&1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.273.1.1.2.1.1.1::[EMAIL PROTECTED] j
