Attached is a Windows 2000 script that checks whether the T2K service is
running and acts accordingly. I think you're looking for Linux examples,
but I thought this may help inspire you to code a Linux equivalent; i.e.
searching for the appropriate daemon (says he, trying to sound all
k
ck that to trigger a script, then the cron
need only be running as a backup protection, just in case!

I think Lynx has a "-timeout=n" option, so that might do what you want.
