It doesn't look like there's a registry side to the All Users profile. Only
filesystem (such as start menu and desktop) items seem to get inherited. Any
other ideas?

In the versioninfo resource in the executable. MSConfig doesn't rely on

The older XmlFile CA exists in WiX v2. There are no plans to port
XmlConfig to WiX v2, especially now that we're trying to lock down v2.
If XmlFile isn't sufficient, enter a

It is possible. Virtual directories are just a little weird. You put the path
(from the WebSite) in the Alias attribute.
So you can do Alias="Corporate/foo".

Not known, but the certificate stuff in v2 was very fragile. It wouldn't take
much for it to no longer work during all the changes that went into WiX v3.

Okay, I think that I figured out my issue. I was approaching the custom
dialog creation in the incorrect manner, all that I had to do was:
- Create the UserRegistrationDlg.wxs and compile it
- Create my LWWixUI_InstallDir.wxs file base upon original, but with
the inclusion of my dialog

Yes, XmlFile has moved to the Util schema. You need to add a schema
declaration to the top of your fragment, e.g.:
http://schemas.microsoft.com/wix/2006/wi";
xmlns:util="http://schemas.microsoft.com/wix/UtilExtension";>
and prefix uses of XmlFile with util: e.g. .

It appears that this:
doesn't work (I've tried both with and without Overridable).
Is this by design, or by happenstance? The obvious fix would be in
WixVariableResolver.cs, ResolveVariables (around line 195).

If I'm understanding your question correctly, you can put one virtual
directory inside of another. The WiX documentation states that a valid
child for a webvirtualdir is another webvirtualdir. You might want to try
nesting the second one inside of the first and removing the inner virtual

I apologize if this has already been answered in a previous post, but as far

modify the WixUI_InstallDir.wxs to have another dialog in the flow, and
build it into an extension DLL. I renamed WixUI_InstallDir.wxs to

Hello,
I just downloaded binaries for Wix-3.0.2211.0, and it seems that XmlFile
is not there. When compiling sources that have XmlFile, candle says:
error CNDL0005 : The Component element contains an unexpected child
element 'XmlFile'.
Am I missing something obvious?
Best regards,
