Again
A number of people, including Dave M6RUG, have raised the question of
using WSJT-X when only one hand is reasonably functional. However,
single-handed use of an interface is a *general* problem when using a
PC, and Linux, OS/X and Windows all have approaches which ease the
problems for users fo
I have what I hope is a stupid question. Concerning the matter of one handed
operation, why is it that the left mouse button moves the green goalpost in the
spectrum display, and the right mouse button also moves the green goalpost?
Why not move the red goalpost with the left mouse button? I’
Hi,
Main problem its that still too many using old versions rc1,2 and they
doesnt wont to move forward.
2nd problem few read the manual about keyboard/mouse shortcuts...
Lock TX its great but as I said b4 vy few use it.
Another problem in the fast and weak openings i try to use RR73 and report
when
The issue I have raised NOT whether we should LOCK TX/RX or HOLD TX. There
is actually no way to stop the locking of TX/RX so it is not a matter of
whether people will change or not.
The issue is the way you now have to LOCK TX/RX. It requires a 2 hand
operation and there are those of us who do
My concern with all of this is not the change, but how to get the FT8 users to
change. Habits have already formed. I’m wondering if we should push harder by
inverting the defaults so that a fixed TX frequency is the default, and
allowing it to move has to be enabled. In the words of our new L

I have to agree that I like the new way of operating with rc3 rather
than the old.
I have had many start up CQing on my frequency because the software
caused them to do so. They work me, then they figure they would start

Hi Gary,
that is incorrect. Given N slots there are N possible QSOs, there is no
reason for any QSO to have both partners on the same frequency. Having

I’d like to briefly weigh in in support of default split mode.
Trunked radio and cellular systems operate this way all the time - the actual
operating frequency is unknown to the user, and changes depending on a variety
of factors. This is advantageous.
In an FT8 environment, I suggest it is a

Gee, that would be loads of fun, wouldn’t it? NOT!

Again, assumption of everyone working DX. And yes, they can and do work DX
successfully without split operation on all modes. It may take a little more
work, but, again, I have n

Completely agree, Joe.
I operate with the waterfall “off” 99% of the time and don’t have any issues
people are talking about. The only time I turn the waterfall “on” is to
visually locate an empty place to call CQ so I don’t call CQ over someone
already on a spot. Folks appear to be rely

If everyone calling "dx" freq, nobody get qso, same as cw/ssb..

Well described Joe
My cents fot "Hold Tx Freq"

Where the receive (green) is sitting will be decoded first in the stack. I
believe so
I think the main problem why people are having such a problem with this
TX=RX thing is as far as I know in my Amateur Radio life time ( Been
Licensed since 1975 ) that 99% of our way of operating, was "Zero Beating"
It was good Amateur Practice to "Zero Beat" the station you are in

Hi Bill,
Lock Tx=Rx was useful with my too drifting Tx. When I use FT8 autoseq the
drifting is automatically compensed along the QSO.
Is there anyway to keep this behavior ?
