Problem solved. I looked over the information on the waterfall wide graph
window and noticed that the "FLATTEN" button was open while the "RF SPEC"
was checked. Somehow, I must have unchecked the FLATTEN button while
switching to JTAlert-X to catch a CQ station. Once I checked FLATTEN,

Hi:
Maybe a corrupt driver. If you installed or used another application. I
had problems with my Kenwood 590SG not sure if it was Winlink or a Windows
update. Maybe reinstall drivers (depending on rig). Plug unplug USB
cable.
Just my 2 cents.

I've had the new 64 bit version go deaf in a similar manner after sitting
unused perhaps 36 hours. Nothing would solve it...rebooted, fixed it
immediately with no changes of any kind.

Both LINE IN and LINE OUT
Both LINE IN and LINE OUT were previously set to mono and the program
worked fine. Changing to RIGHT channel made no difference in the decoding,
i.e. still a blank waterfall. I'm not sure whether the soundcard is dead
or the K3 output is dead.

Yes. The K3 has respective jacks for line in and line out. According to
the manual, the K3 has two settings for the audio output. NORMAL is
usually used for digital modes and a separate PHONES setting allows the
audio to match headphones and be controlled by the AF/SUB gain controls.

Ed,
you have now referred twice to the sound card speaker, that has nothing
to do with Rx. How is your K3 connected to your sound card for PC for Rx
audio? Do you have the correct audio input device selected in WSJT-X? Is
that device un-muted in the sound mixer?

I'm using GA V2.0.1; I erred on the version in my original post. The
Time.is app shows my timing is 0.007 seconds off so accuracy is not the
problem. My soundcard speaker is a Microsoft high-definition audio device
that tests out as working fine.

Deleting the program is often the last resort.
What are you using for a soundcard? Did you check the audio settings in
WSJT-X. Finally, the most currnet GA release is 2.0.1, also available
from the WSJT-X page.
