I have question about debian's start-stop script.
If debian's start-stop daemon just kills XMail, which is very quick
operation, why default /etc/init.d/xmail script writes `date` into
$XMAIL_ROOT/.shutdown and waits a lot of time while this file dissapears?

ok. I guess I will not convince anybody, that it is good idea. Just
note: I am using Exchange "crap"-log a lot and it helped me several
times.

spam comes mostly from dialup accounts and they mostly identify with "HELO
aol.com":

We all use sniffers to find network problems. It's not the MTA that has to
be intelligent on that part. (Anyway -> you refer to M$ exchange and it's
monitoring capabilities... Ever looked into the results? It's crap !!
