I'll explain :
There is a real domain, let's call it domain.gr.
We have successfully setup xmail v.1.15 on a slackware box.
There are four workstations inside. Each workstation having its own
user and mailbox
All you need to do from the default files is empty the smtprelay.tab
file. You don't want to add anything to the smtp.ipmap.tab or you will
prevent other servers from sending you mail. Change the line in
smtp.ipmap.tab to ALLOW.

Is. Simply copy your %MAIL_ROOT% folder and then copy it back.

While trying to get my logs to rotate at 00:00, I used the -Mr 00 command line
parameter, not realising that it was not the parameter I needed. Upon more diligent
reading of the readme I worked out that the log would rotate every 00 hours. - DUH
A side effect

I thought you want to have also the mailboxes backed up. When you want to
have backed up only the server configuration, then yes, your idea is
basically good. Simply exclude everything in "mailbox" folder, because
besides the mailusers.tab you need also their own configuration files, ie.
user.tab,

being lower L and the ? being a code for the type of log.

Look at MkUsers.

Ignore that section for now. That is going to be part of the program where
you will be able to save log results to an MySQL database.
Just set your log directory and thats all you need.

yes just point the log directory to where ever your logs are stored. If they
are on a linux system just create a share via Samba, or copy them to a
windows shared drive and point the program to there.
