Just to let anyone be sure that there's no problem
with the spool files, neither with XMail itself.
The problem we noticed was a loop caused by

No, just AVG console working with 'xav' (Denis Olivier).
The active scanning is disabled.
The server has two hard disks, with RAID mirroring.

I know this is pretty far off topic, but why does the thread view (both
in Thunderbird and the mail archive) confuse threads? At first I
thought it was a Thunderbird problem, but then I noticed that the thread
view on the mail archive was identical. For example, the first message

Under FreeBSD the existing port is way out of date (version 1.8 or
something like that), so the simple (and I think proper) approach I use
is to:
1. download the distro from the "official" xmail site and compile it
2. put a start/stop script at /usr/local/etc/rc.d (this may differ for
netBSD or

Remember my problem on Xmail 1.21 over W2000 (mail "RE: problem with

my spool structure shows spool errors in the Event Manager regulary (a

An example:

Thanks for these tips all. I've been putting my expetience with this

I'll let everyone know what works in my situation for further reference.
Thanks again,

Theres something on the queue.
I've moved everything that was on the spool
directory.
Then restarted, and now it works fine with 1.21.
Some mail should be a bad one to the 1.21 and
seems to be right to 1.17 or 1.15.
I'll check for it to know exactly the one that

You should have specified that you have to add "-Mm" to the command line,
otherwise is never gonna work, since XMail use
Do you have multiple IP's on that machine. If so, try telneting to the
IP that Xmail binds to. Do you get Xmail header when you telnet? What

The mail server refuses acceptance of the telnet session. But if I use an
