Maybe a tool like 'Netbug' could help you.
This interesting piece of software can redirect any ip:port to other
ip2:port2 ( local or remote)
It solved many problems for me and it works fast and clean.
You can download it from 'http://www.htk.fi/public/akirjavainen' in
both versions: Linux and
I have the same configuration Bill describe, and it works fine for me.
(Hint: be sure master DNS AND SECONDARY DNS for
'youdontneedtoknow.com.au´ are right.
Usually problems arise when you fix the real server and two differents
dns records are alive.)

This was a problem dificult to solve for me.
After several months of disscusions with other domain admin´s , I choose
to not check RDNS in order to keep my clients happy (almost).
There´s too much domains without RDNS config and many more admins who
doesn´t know (IMHO) what is exactly RDNS.

RDNS
Exact:
You can set up a "pre-data" filter, look "@domain.example" in dns
against domain.example ip, and reject if you want.
Personally, with "Checkmailerdomain" and "SMTP-RDNSCheck" in efect I
have no problems (almost).

You should set up "SMTP-RDNSCheck" variable in "server.tab" in order to
do that check.

Then, you should do an "> dig springthrough.com" from Xmail svr console
and discover how it finds an mx for "springthrough.com".
The only strange part to me is that you don´t have an error when you
send email . :-\

I work with 'uudeview'. It works great.
If you want to try, find it at 'http://www.fpx.de/fp/Software/UUDeview/'.
You can specify what extension to decode without extract all the mail
content; then, you can watch a specific folder and send the files to the
right place.

I only can tell you what is my scenario to help you:
- My LAN works with Xmail 1.21 (2 of them) over W2000 servers behind a
Linux firewall;
- My internet connection is ADSL (yes I do!), so my ip is in a dial-up
range;
- I´ve got a legal domain name (.com) hosted in DynDns.org;
- I´ve configured
Another vote for ILOHAMAIL: robust, simple, and integrated with MySQL if
you want.
There´s no size limit, and very easy to custom.

Well, as the error message says, it´s obvious the error comes from the AV.
It´s not Xmail related.
Probably, after a virus database upgrade, the AV database is wrong,
or,
you have memory problems.

Thank you, Davide: it works.
The disk space was ok, and there were no problems with files or directories.
I'm investigating what was the "crash" source.

Hi !
I have a Xmail 1.20 production server over W2000 with poblems since 2
days ago.
It was running nicely during 8 months without any problem.
Now, it receives messages but does not deliver them to the mailboxes.
Event viewer shows a few events about Xmail with error "554: error
