set up) and it is not his fault that my MTA doesn't even try to use that.

servers which gave 5xx errors from further retries
in transmission but should continue as long there are any servers
left. This will be a bit inconvenient when (due to misconfiguration)
some of the MX time out permanently because XMAIL will try again and
again for the whole retry period and not bounce immediately.

- What IS XMAIL's policy WRT 5xx errors? Even "550 Mailbox does not
~ exist" could simply mean that this one MX is mis configured and not
~ that all delivery attempts with other MXens would also fail.
- Shouldn't XMAIL at least make one complete round over all MX hosts

You can try to resubmit the frozen mail (frozsubmit command
of the ctrlclnt interface).
Davide, for XMAIL it might be a good idea to terminate delivery
attempts only when *all* different MX yield an error 5xx.
