Hi all,
I have a fujitsu C 6599 notebook.
It comes with ATI Rage Mobility – P that has a VGA and SVideo out.
I am using Redhat 7.2 ( X upgraded
to 4.2.0 and ati.2 drivers). How do I get the Svideo
working??

I'm using the vesa driver for a tridentGUI9685 and was wondering if
changing the refresh rate in the XF86Config file actually DOES
anything. i couldn't seem to tell a difference. also, (if i can get the
trident driver to work with the card) what should i put in the

Hello folks.
I've been beating my head against the wall for the last couple days on this,
and there's got to be an easier way to do this.
I have a 32MB CompactFlash disk (which is, for all intents and purposes, a
hard drive).
I want to install a minimal XFree86 system on it, using the kdrive s

Current XFree86 CVS reduces the RENDER extension's colormap appetite to a
much more modest portion.

In the evolution from 4.0.2 to 4.2.0, xfree86 has changed the way it
allocated free color cells in 8bit mode. Using applications in pseudoColor
mode that require a set number of free color cells are now broken.
In 4.0.2, a standard setup with a low impact window manager would result in

National Semiconductor Geode drivers are available at

explain how to use them and create more general purpose drivers.

Er???
The FreeType backend is a font backend just like the others. It
merely produces glyph bitmaps and doesn't know about what the upper
layers of the server do with them.

I (nearly) found where's the problem; if I do:
xset fp- unix/:7100
I.e. I disable the font server that comes with X (xfs), but I still
leave the TTF fonts somewhere in the font path, it seems that everything
works as expected. No more apps deadlocks.

order to do that I need to be able to do 1024x768 @ 72Hz with 90 degrees of
rotation. Could the X 4 driver you have do that?? And if so

This might be a well known issue, but I failed to find it in the archives.
I have compiled XFree86-4.2.0 from source with the security patches
applied. I haven't made any changes to my XF86Config-4, it works with the
X-packages from Debian woody.
My problem is as follows:

No there isn't a way in 3.3.6.
You'd have do copy the code from 4.x to 3.3.6 to do it, but it's
possible.
