in xfree 4.3.0 you could use xrandr perhaps, although you have to swith
the output to the external port. you can also have several XF86Config
files and just pass them as to startx when you start your X server. I
don't recall the exact server option, but I believe it is something
like this.
I've had similar results with my G550. Xfree86 -configure works fine,
but nothing else does. Also, even when I use the monitor info from
xfree86 -configure or manually specify the specs for my monitor, a MAG
800V, the driver seems to set the mode wrong. I can't get

I'd be interested in helping out with the savage work. I don't know
much about the DRI, but I can help test. I'm actually working (slowly)
on adding dual head (duoview) support to the savage driver for the
mobile savages. I've started on the code, but I've been so busy lately

I'm pretty unfamiliar with OpenGL programming. I have an idea for an
xfree module that I suspect would not be too hard to implement, but I
wanted to get some other opinions on it. What I'd like to do is create
a module called perhaps ogl-xv or glx-xv that would provide a generic

Which card do you have ? I don't recall r128 cards supporting two
heads..
With the exception of notebook chipsets. (Note: TV-out does not count).

I believe Sis wrote some preliminary support for XV for the 6326 a

You need the matrox binary drivers to use the second head on the G400.
Also the second head does not support 8 bit color, only 16 and 24 bit.

I had a PCI rage 128 a while back. I used it with

work in black and white though. I never tried 3D.
The card also refused to work as a seconday card. In
order to use it with my old G400, I had to make the
rage the primary. It worked for me
