Running an IBM ThinkPad A30P with an ATI Radeon Mobility M6 (32MB) for

If I rmmod either agpgart or radeon, performance in 'gears' drops to
~250 FPS, so something certainly is accelerated, but the performance
doesn't seem up to par, being at 60% of an aged Mobility-128.

Running an IBM ThinkPad A30p with i830MP, ATI Radeon Mobility M6 LY 32MB
(which is becoming mainstraim quite quickly) and 1600x1200 LCD panel.
Redhat 7.2, kernel 2.4.16-0.9 (slightly patched to detect the i830MP
agpgart).
Situation :

1. As stock XFree86 4.1.0 doesn't support
lower) RTCW ("Return to Castle Wolfenstein")
OpenGL/Mesa session in a native 1600x1200 X-resolution relocates the
application to the lower left of the screen instead of using the screen
expansion feature.
