You're in luck Jason. I've just finished writing a howto (literally about
a day ago and I haven't yet proofed it).

It's geared for a Debian installation, but where I write things like
apt-get install raidtools2, grab the appropriate rpm and issue and rpm
-ivh

The way raid1 works though, is that you don't have a failover, per se. You
have to identitical disks that are written to simultaneously. If one
fails, then you only have an array with one disk left.

You then substitute the broken disk with a new one. Recreate the
partitions and add it to the array and you're back to full redundancy.
