Hi :
Has anyone managed to successfully configure software RAID-1 on two
identical
IDE disks ? Here is what I need :
1) A method for creating RAID-1 during installation that is filesystem
independant. In
otherwords , these steps will 'mirror' an entire disk onto the other
disk while your
system is being installed as well as while it is being used foreveryday
work , irrespective
of how you have set up your Linux filesystems on that disk.
2) How do I create a disk 'failover' mechanism so that if during system
operation the 'primary' disk
fails , the system will automatically switch to the second disk , and
once the 'primary' disk has been
replaced or repaired , the system is intelligent enough to know that the
newer data is on the backup
disk , and will use this backup disk to synch the data across all of the
raid devices ?
Regards , Jason
