Hi Sanja,

You have to disable it from within the Task Scheduler.
Go to the Control Panel and search for Scheduled Tasks.
Delete the WindowsUpdate Task.  If you have no other task, you should
disable all task by going Advanced -> Stop Using task scheduler.

thanks for ur reply ... i have removed the auto-update
from the browser as had been suggested in one of the
responses. But how do i remove the 'auto-update'
feature for windows altogether ??
