Before anyone starts closing ports and blocking this and that, find out what
you are running on your machine that opens that port! It may be your
anti-virus software (Trend Micro uses port 12345 as its auto-update port,
for instance), which you wouldn't really want to block, right? Use a program
such as Active Ports, or Fport (by Foundstone) to find out what you really
have on your machine.

Info on ActivePorts, and download link.:
http://www.protect-me.com/freeware.html

Download FPort by Foundstone: link at the bottom
http://www.dewassoc.com/support/useful/fport_port_mapper.htm

Don't jump to conclusions before you have all the info. You might hurt
yourself more than help.

Do both! Layered security approach is always the best.
