Hi again,
I'm testing for the first time the mnf2 beta2 and I really like it. Its a
great product. I test it because I have many windows xp in my lan and they
do many simultaneous connection to Windows VNN PPTP servers, and I really
have problems around this situation because the connections lost every
time. I try coyote, floppyfw and others with the pptp_patch and I see
"pptp.c bad_csum" all the time. I 'm testing the mnf2 because I see that
it have the pptp_patch, but I don't need to load thia modules to my
clients works again, mnf can manage my pptp connections! At least in this
first day.
I have some questions about mnf2:
1. The traffic shaper aparently don't work after I activet it, if I do the
command "tc -s class show dev eth0" dont appear nothing and the parameter
TC_ENABLED on shorewall.conf is set to NO. after I put tc TS to work, how
I add rules ?
2. Can I edit squid.conf to alter/add some configuration? How I
althenticate users in my Windows PDC? Only enabling authentication with
samba don't work.
3. I don't have know about shorewall, so I do many errors adding firewall
rules im my tri homed mnf2, and I see that when I do a error the firewall
stop to work and I dont know what happens! In the console I do the
command /etc/init.d/shorewall restart and I see where the error occur, so
not is a good idea to put the shorewall error messages on the web
interface?
4. I need to setup a vpn pptp. I need to add a zone for this? and how i
procced with the firewall? I need to comunicate my lan with the remote lan
through this pptp tunnel.
