With MNF1, and it's the same with MNF2, you don't need to open high ports on the firewall for the vpn setup. You simply need to configure the vpn part on the mnf (for MNF1 it's freeswan). Then, you need to configure the firewall section for that ... (see the online help in the firewall->tunnels section for an example) ... and then you need to configure the windows part. On MNF1, as I said, VPN uses freeswan with x509 certificates. The direct consequence is that you need to configure your XP box for IPSEC tunnels. You will not be able to use pptp on the XP box and freeswan on MNF. Firstly, you need to generate the .p12 XP certificate on mnf (see the MNF vpn online help for details), then copy it on windows and import it. Secondly, you have at least two ways for configuring XP for IPSEC tunnels. You may download the Markus M�ller package for windows and use it from http://vpn.ebootis.de/. This program is simply a user friendly interface with the look of freeswan that will do the real thing on windows.
