I have a really of-the-wall suggestion. The way the references were given 
to you, I think they came from within other documents. For example, you 
have this really long statement in one of your references......" so and so 
did da da da and came up with the conclusion that all des are dats. 
Batty(1975) -- You can go back to the original document, and find the 
references for Batty.

It's the long way, but you may find your answers.
