Maybe a comparison between content-centric and control-centric
interfaces may provide some views from a different angle. A brief
comparison can be read at the beginning of the JSR 170 Overview White
Paper [1].

After following this thread, I start to feel that standardization is
the key to ease integration tasks. If we define an 'interface' as a
service abstraction that is defined & exposed for public use, a
question to be asked is: which kind of interface designs will ease the
standardization process, a) within a specific domain or b) across
domains. Long-term maintainability (or evolution) issues should also
be considered in the interface design.
