1) open socket and write data (see RFC for SMTP)
or
2) use JavaMail (see Sun site for that).
or
3) you can use  mailto protocol with the URL (see URLConnection class)


Btw, have look at our smtpMail class (supports mime format
and much smaller than JavaMail):
