As I read through the help threads it's very apparent that many
of you are simply not doing your homework. Go through the Java
tutorials; get a book; read the "readme" files from the stuff you
download; do a search on the archives of this interest group.
Many of your questions are very elementary and need not populate
the space in this forum which should be reserved for more
advanced inquiry. You will get a much more receptive audience if
you do basic research before you whine about not being able to do
this or that on this list. I am not being an elite (term from
the pre-web Internet), I am simply suggesting that no one wants
to help someone who apparently has not done anything to help
him/herself. I gotta tell ya that many of the questions I find
here can be answered by simply reading the README files of the
stuff you download. That's pretty lame.....

Also...

I have noticed that some marketing companies have clued into
us...not too bad right now. But the number of people who have
subscribed and left, but not unsubscribed so we are getting there
"I'm on vacation; I'm not at this address; etc." is becoming a
real concern. I delete at least 20 per cent of all messages from
this list simply because I get a return SMTP error message. This
is not polite at best. Sign off, if you are not going to
participate; sign off if you are going on vacation; sign off if
you change jobs. This is the basis of netiquette!

Cheers!
Mark
