A technological dwarf running a PC with a PIII, 128 Ram, theroetical 700 mHz.... so
please forgive me if I'm stating the obvious...('cause I really don't know what I'm
talking about)
I found Setispy http://pages.tca.net/roelof/setispy
a useful site for comparison of chips, speed and links to pages and programmes which
help an idiot like me to grasp some of the basic reasons why I'm not getting the
performance I thought I paid for... and what I can expect, and even do about it- as
his site is based on WU's and completion time it may be of interest?
I have also found Sandrasoft which has a free downloadable programme that runs a very
thorough diagnostic with tips and suggestions... again, the unitiated can run and use
it...
Disclaimer: I am no relation of Setispy's creator, but must admit that it's
appearance/non appearance on the status line is often my first indication of server
problems....
