Hi Jim, The global interpreter lock problem may no longer apply in Solaris 10.x. When it shows up, it basically makes threading slow. If you didn't build your own python, you might want to do so, and see if it improves the situation.
I think the general opinion for best utilization of multiple cores is to run lots of ZEO clients with few threads. Use large object caches. If you've got lots of logged in users, make sure you're using sticky sessions with your load balancer. If subsequent pages are that slow, something is seriously wrong.
