This is obviously a very serious incident, but it's not one that I can
duplicate or that has been reported by anyone else. If we can duplicate it
or receive any similar reports, we will immediately withdraw the installer.
The basic mechanisms used by this installer are the same as those in
previous releases, so it's been used many hundreds of times on diverse
targets.

Would you check the md5 hash and gpg signature on the .dmg file. Both are
available on the distribution page at
https://launchpad.net/plone/+milestone/4.0.0 . I have verified that the MD5
computed by launchpad matches the uploaded copy of the .dmg file.
