It's possible that we have here that most unlikely of events, a download
error.

The original, the copy uploaded to launchpad, and a copy I just downloaded
from launchpad are all in agreement:

MD5 (Plone-4.0.dmg) = f104f7b5a8ef96d305e1dfe221f06828

It's possible the error is elsewhere, but we've got to get an accurate
download to establish a baseline. Can you try your download again and check
the MD5?

Also, what's your OS X version and processor type? This installer is
targeted at 10.5 (leopard) and 10.6 (snow leopard) and supports only Intel
processors.
