I referenced the the document you mentioned. I had originally followed the instructions that came in the INSTALL files. The only material difference I saw was that there were some compiler flags mentioned for pj and kde. I cleaned my previous compilation and then followed the document you suggested. I still do not see any video codecs. I did see some problems in the procedures shown. For pj you need to cd to pjproject-2.0.1 not pjproject. Also that folder does not have a configure script but it has a pre-built Makefile. For kde Cmake is not run manually. It is run by config.sh. Another thing I noticed is that the instructions for gnome had an --enable- video option. There was no equivalent option for kde. I doubt that it would make much difference since no video codecs are built. In case you are wondering, I did --enable-video for the daemon.
