Mainly because the existing versions in Solaris don't provide these links and nor is the default behavior of "make install" to make them. Also, I recall some Tcl documentation (which I can't find now) advocating this approach, with a mind to installing multiple versions simultaneously (although I'm not planning to do that). Could making these links be in any way seen as implying compatibility with future versions using the same links? If not, then I suppose it would make sense to add them? - Dermot This message posted from opensolaris.org
