If I understand correctly Perl 5.8 and Perl 5.10 can co-exist.  
Delivering a Perl module for Perl 5.8 should in no way affect  
upgrading Perl to 5.10. The PSARC case for 5.10 indicates that Perl  
5.8 will be end-of-life'ed at a later date. If/When Perl is upgraded  
to 5.10 I'll make sure that Net::SSLeay will work with it. I'm not  
sure the Perl team (even if there is such a thing) would like to be  
burdened with being responsible for the whole universe of Perl  
modules. Net:SSLeay really falls into the Solaris Security group's  
responsibility (of which I'm part of).
