I don't understand your question -- why is the build time going to get longer, or why is a longer build time more painful? Aren't the answers obvious? I'm not saying that it might not be worth it, but it's also not clear to me that we want to go overboard, doubling build times to squeeze an extra percent of speed out of a library or application that either doesn't need to have high performance or customers aren't actually going to care much about. But I don't think Sriram is proposing to do that. Danek
