OK.

I've been using ShareTheNet for months now without a hitch. Great product!

Now I need to allow access to one of my NT machines using a product called
VNC (file:///E|/Incoming/VNC/vnc_docs/index.html). This product allows
remote access to a machine ala the old Timbucktu product. It actually
allows you to control the machine running the server version from the
remote machine running the viewer version.

Based on the docs, I enabled port 5900 for both TCP and UDP and directed
it to the appropriate machine. I did this via the admin web page on my
ShareTheNet box, using the
AdvancedSetup/Network/Configure/UserSpecifiedInboud
option, and set User 1 to Enabled/Both/5900/192.168.x.y (the local address
of the machine I want VNC to have access to.

When I attempt to connect to the machine using VNC, the viewer eventually
times out.

The Services/Status/SocketsInUse page of the STN admim web page shows the
following entries:
  TCP rupert.dplhenterprises.com:5900 dhcp4.dplhenterprises.com:1151 6989
  TCP rupert.dplhenterprises.com:5900 dhcp4.dplhenterprises.com:1143 5886
  TCP rupert.dplhenterprises.com:5900 dhcp4.dplhenterprises.com:1132 5735

I'm at a loss. I don't really understand the innerworkings of STN.

Help will be most appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Dave
