Lyle,
Got it!
I was testing coming in from outside. Unfortunately, the VNC viewer
apparently provides its address to the server and, since it's all
it has, was providing the local net address (192.168.x.y).
I disconnected the local Ethernet segment from the test client machine
and dialed into an ISP and then tried to connect to my VNC server.
Voila, Success!
For the record:
The default incoming port for the VNC Server is 5900
on a Windows NT box running WinVNC Version 3.3.3 R2.
Thanks for the support. It's great to know that the STN user
community is always ready to share the hard-won knowledge.
Dave
